TECHNIQUE: PASHMINA HAND-WEAVE
The tale of this heirloom scarf begins in foothills of the Himalayas. Literally translated, pashmina means “soft gold” and we think Kashmiri pashmina, which accounts for less than 0.1% of all cashmere products globally, is the softest form of cashmere you will touch. Pashmina threads are so fine that they are individually hand-spun in a traditional loom. The threads are then separately hand-dyed in different colors, and handwoven in a loom in the state of Kashmir by families that have been practicing the craft for generations. This scarf is made in small batches by a women-owned co-operative.
