APT’s Premier Resort collection was imagined for the spontaneous and uninhibited world travelers. Women ingrained with an infinite lust for cultural enrichment, new discoveries of indigenous artwork, awe-inspiring landscapes, and experiencing travel in the most authentic ways possible.
The Likizo collection was conjured up by dreams of serenity and escape by envisioning the vast Kenyan plains of Nairobi- a getaway for kindred traveling spirits. With one suitcase in tow, and endless possibilities, inspiration for this collection is found at the African Heritage House in the heart of Nairobi; a hidden gem brought to life by collector Alan Donavan.
The marvels and rich legacy of woven African art is celebrated throughout this collection. Masterfully detailed embroidery, intricate patterns, and meticulously crocheted caftans, scarves, and cardigans pay homage to the ancient art of Zulu African basket weaving; a technique that has been coveted and passed down through generations. Striped woven textiles are drawn from ceremonial woven cotton country cloths, native to Sierra Leone. Brilliant earth tones, surprising pops of color, braided tassels, and pom-pom embellishments come together to create a decorative collection; inspired by the wonders of Africa, and the multitude of hidden treasures found within the African Heritage House.
APTs vibrant Likizo collection is centered on mastering the ultimate travel wardrobe essentials: caftans, cover-ups, cardigans, scarves, beach bags, ponchos and bandanas. Luxurious printed silks and handwoven fabrics are made by artisans in India.
APT sees itself as champions for slow fashion and preservationists of centuries- old techniques. We invite you to travel through their products, discover the unexpected, learn about different techniques and cultures, and share that story with others.
