About Accompany

Accompany is a rapidly-growing three-year-old ethical fashion e-commerce startup. Our leadership team comes squarely out of the fashion space, having worked with major global brands and retailers; now we’re on a mission together to do global good – working only with indigenous artisans, fair trade workshops and philanthropic causes in 43 countries around the world to build long-term paths to prosperity in disadvantaged communities. Called the “Whole Foods of Fashion” by The Huffington Post, we believe shoppers shouldn’t have to choose between fashion impact and social impact.

Logistics and Community Experience Assistant

Accompany is looking to add a new part-time Logistics and Community Experience Assistant to support fulfillment and customer service operations in our New York office. Daily operations is the drumbeat of our e-commerce business and we need a perfectionist who loves a clear process and order of activities, and really enjoys making customers happy, to build long-term relationships with fans of our do-good brand.

We currently handle all fulfillment in-house, which allows us to create a warm and personal relationship with our community. The way our product is presented to the customer is one of the most impactful ways to gain their loyalty and keep them coming back to shop with us.

The Logistics and Community Experience Assistant will support the regular fulfillment of our incoming orders, including, but not limited to:

  • Managing packing, wrapping, shipping, and inventory
  • Coordinating execution in a way that reflects our brand and consumer experience
  • Overseeing product quality control; liaising with shipping companies
  • Communicating with customers, when necessary, to ensure they are satisfied

You will join a rapidly growing start-up. In this environment, you will enjoy a level of casual informality that counterbalances our self-motivated industriousness. You must be extremely detail-oriented and deadline driven. That said, among a small, scrappy team of veteran fashion and social good insiders, you will gain invaluable exposure and access. This is an exciting opportunity to get a foot in the door of an ascendant brand and to immerse yourself in the worlds of fashion and social entrepreneurship. We hope this part-time role can grow into a full-time position with evolving responsibilities over time.

This is a freelance role to start immediately, at 8-12 hours a week, compensated hourly at the New York City Minimum Wage. The role may be physically demanding at times, and requires capability and willingness to pack, move, and carry packages.

Applicant should have experience in all or most of the following: PhotoShop, InDesign, photography, photo retouching, graphic design, video editing, web design, luxury/lifestyle, retail, fashion, communications, and social media.

As we are unable to provide financial remuneration at this time, all applicants must be able to receive credit or other appropriate compensation for this position. They should be able to commit to at least the Fall 2017 semester, if not the entire 2017-2018 school year.
